Joining and signing in

Community accounts are free and for people 18 and over. Enter your email and we send a link and a 6-digit code. Click the link, or type the code if you opened the email on a different device. There is no password to remember.

Pick a handle (3 to 20 lowercase letters, numbers or underscores). It becomes your page address, like /u/yourhandle. A display name is optional and you can change it any time.

Your profile

Your page shows an about section, region and terrain tags, up to 5 links, a gallery of up to 12 photos, your friends and Top 8, a guestbook and your run journal. Edit all of it under Settings.

Photos are shrunk when you upload them and their hidden location data is removed. Please keep uploads under 4 MB. Plain text only: no HTML, CSS or scripts.

Friends and the Top 8

Friendship is mutual. Send a request from someone's page, and it counts once they accept. You can remove a friend whenever you like.

Your Top 8 is a ranked list of up to 8 of your accepted friends. Choose and order it under Top 8. Each person curates their own, so being on someone's Top 8 does not put them on yours.

The guestbook

Any signed-in member you have not blocked can leave a note (up to 1,000 characters) on your page. You can delete any entry on your own guestbook, and authors can delete their own notes. Moderators can also hide entries that break the community guidelines.

Run journal and routes

Log a run with a date and any of: distance, time, climb, place or a note. None of them is required on its own, but a run needs at least one. Distance can be in miles or km.

Each run is public or hidden. Public runs appear on your page with totals. Hidden runs are only visible to you. The page shows your newest 10 runs, with a button to load 10 more at a time.

You can upload a route from a GPX file under Routes. Every new route starts private. You choose whether it is private, friends only or public.

Privacy settings

Under Privacy you can switch each of these on or off:

• Member directory: if off, you are not listed, but your page still works for people with the link.
• Show my friends and Top 8: on your page and on your friends list.
• Show my run journal: if off, nobody but you sees it.
• Email notifications: optional emails about friend requests and guestbook notes. Every email has a one-click way to stop.

Themes and your song

Pick one of three looks under Appearance: Xerox Black, Burnt Paper or Flyer Wall. You can also choose banner shape, accent and texture. Custom code is not allowed.

You can feature one song from a YouTube link under Music. It never plays on its own: visitors press play first.

Blocking and reporting

Block anyone from their page. They cannot see your page, add you or sign your guestbook, and they are not told. Report a profile or guestbook entry to the moderators. Reports are private.

Shopping without joining

You can buy from the shop as a guest. Your community account and your orders are separate, and we never link them by email address.
